Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small yellow onion, diced
1 small green bell pepper, diced
8 ounces cremini mushrooms, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup low-sodium beef broth
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
6 ounces provolone cheese, shredded
4 brioche hamburger buns, toasted
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Add onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Whisk Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, cornstarch, and beef broth in a bowl. Pour into skillet, bring to a simmer, and cook until thickened, about 2 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low, stir in shredded provolone until melted.
Serve the mixture on toasted brioche buns.
